About LADA
Lakes Area Development Association (“LADA”) is a non-profit, member association in Minnesota, and is in the process of pursuing 501(c)(3) status. LADA was formed with a charter to drive economic improvement for stakeholders in the central lakes region of Otter Tail County, largely defined by the boundaries of the Battle Lake School District #542.
The mission of the Lakes Area Development Association is to:
“Enable economic development and growth in the Lakes Area with business
expansion services, new investments, and community enhancements
while preserving our quality of life.“

Where is the Lakes Area?
Located between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Fargo, North Dakota, the Lakes Area rests within the beautiful county of Otter Tail in central Minnesota. This area is considered the "Heart of the Lakes" as it contains nearly 1,000 of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes. The city of Battle Lake is located at the junction of Hwy. 78 and 210, and sits on the western shoreline of one of Minnesota's premier lakes – West Battle Lake.
