The Lakes Area is located at the intersection of two major Minnesota state highways – 78 and 210. Moving people and products in and out of the region is efficient. These two state highways provide access to several regional employment centers for commuters living in the lakes region. Highway 78 reaches Perham 20 miles to the north and Alexandria 40 miles to the southeast. Highway 210 provides access to Fergus Falls 17 miles to the west. Access to Interstate 94 is a mere 20 miles to the south or 17 miles to the west of Battle Lake.

Conference Center
Thumper Pond, a new hotel and conference center facility, is located just minutes north of Battle Lake on Highway 78. Thumper offers 78 suites, executive conference rooms, restaurants, a waterpark, and its impressive 18-hole golf course. The Lakes Area is clearly built for business and fun!
